This shapeshifting Syrah from Church Road offers thyme and violets, but also anise and clove. Cherry, then berry. Corralled by acidity and structure.
AMUSINGS - You can’t quite grapple with it. Sweet and savoury are one and the same. Full bodied but finely structured. Nose led one way, mouth the other. The Provençale countryside of lovage and nettle is now a Sri Lankan beach of anise and swelter. Corralled by acidity and structure, this wine will age gracefully. Come back in ten years, you’ll both be older and wiser.
