Large Goblet
Handblown by Drew Spangenberg in Adelaide, this large goblet has a bulbous smoke-hued stem that holds a vibrant, apricot bowl with a subtle gradient. The foot of the goblet also holds this dashing apricot tone. Completely handmade, slight variations in size, shape, and colour are evidence of Spangenberg's process and artistry. Each glass is not only unique, this style and colourway has been developed specifically for VNTNR, in an extremely small production run. From the artist: "Cup making is a fundamental part of glassblowing that is learned early, though takes years to master. I strive to make clean, functional goblets that pay homage to the ancient traditions and techniques of Italian cup making with an elegant, modern aesthetic."
About: Drew Spangenberg, originally from South Australia with training from around the world, is a highly awarded Glass Artist. Spangenberg runs a production- and exhibition-based practice under the name DKS, which exhibits locally and interstate. Embedded in JamFactory’s inner workings, Drew is also the Production Manager of the Glass Studio, where he works closely with trainees to develop their skills and creative concepts. He also produces JamFactory products and commissions.
